Location, Location, Location
The home is designed by the nurse owner and is fit for the purpose it serves; overlooking the sea with it’s unspoilt views (please see our website gallery).
The home is four terraced houses combined with three levels that are linked by a stair-lift.
Refurbishment and Re-Decoration
A complete refurbishment took place n 2003 to a high standard in order to meet the requirements of the Care Standard Commission (CSCI), now called Care Quality Commission (CQC). A further partial refurbishment took place in 2009and ongoing re-decoration continues by our full time handy man who works five days a week. A building of this size requires the Forth Road Bridge approach and the owners are always engaged in creative and practical improvements, to the building.
27 single en-suite bedrooms
All of the bedrooms have en-suites and several of them have showers also. These are personalized rooms incorporating the residents’ own furniture wherever possible and three domestic staff work together to provide laundry services and a daily cleaning programme. Several of the bedrooms have views of the sea, which is just over the road.
Dining Rooms and Lounges
There are four dining areas in the house and three of these are supervised for meals to ensure safety. We always try to ensure that our folks enjoy foods of choice in a peaceful, spacious room that suits their needs. Allowing personal space is labour intensive but avoids congestion and any simmering tensions. All of the dining areas overlook the sea.

The Top Floor
The Café and Adjoining kitchen
As you arrive on the top floor it is even more peaceful in the café with the best views of the sea. The residents’ have access to a hot water boiler facility for making drinks, 24 hours a day. This room is used weekly for supervised cooking sessions for our folks. Families are always invited to use this room when they visit their family member to enjoy a meal.
The Enclosed Patio Area
This is a safe and secure outside venue and is accessible for all with the extensive ramp. Alfresco meals are throughout the summer and bring our residents together as a family out of doors. Our folks enjoy the owner doing barbecues and this summer it was great to make homemade bread in this location on a very hot day. There is plenty of shade provided by sturdy brollies attached to solid garden furniture.
Our facilities are always evolving due to the changing needs and choices of our folks. We have plans for a large conservatory in the near future along with plans to extend the patio space, which will enhance the quality of life of our folks.
